Getting started is easy. Register your HOSA chapter’s team page today to gain access to free student fundraising tools, resources and support.

Start fundraising

1. Register your team’s page
  
  We recommend your chapter advisor registers your team page, or that you use your chapter’s shared email address for advisor access. There should only be one team page per chapter.
  
  You will select your chapter’s plan for donor registry recruitment when you register your team page.
  
  Once your chapter team page is registered, you will receive follow-up emails with more information. If you are adding people to the registry, a separate email will confirm your join keyword for the new school/membership year and include your next steps.
2. Customize your page
  
  Add a profile or banner image, logos, photos, videos and more!
  
  To ensure your chapter earns points for adding people to the donor registry, make sure to replace the general join keyword on your team page story with your chapter's join keyword. Then, potential registry members can order a swab kit to be mailed to them from the page.
3. Share and spread the word
  
  Share your chapter fundraising team page on social and with friends and family.
  
  NOTE: If you use Instagram to share your chapter's team page, make sure to add your link to your bio. If you add the Instagram "donate" button to any post, we won't be able to track donations to your chapter's efforts.
4. Set up your NMDP Volunteer portal account
  
  Create an account in the NMDP Volunteer Portal to track your service hours and qualify for recognition opportunities.
  
  Important: Volunteer hours must be logged in the Volunteer Portal to be counted toward chapter recognition and individual honor cords.
5. Questions? Contact us
  
  Your local NMDP representative's contact information will be included in the confirmation email for your join keyword request. Reach out to schedule training for hosting swabbing events.
  
  If you did not request a join keyword, or if you don't know your local representative, contact us at hosa@nmdp.org.
How to reset your annual chapter points:
To reset your annual chapter points to zero, you must register one chapter team page each membership year.

The funds you raise provide grants to families facing financial barriers to treatment and fuel innovative cell therapy research so more patients can access transplant and thrive.

You can also save lives as a donor

Under 18? Pre-register to join our blood stem cell registry and enter your chapter or state join keyword. We'll send you a reminder on your 18th birthday to officially join as a potential donor!

Students 18 years of age and above are eligible to join the NMDP Registry. If matched with a patient, you could give someone a second chance at life one day.

Maren joined the NMDP Registry at the NC HOSA State Leadership Conference, inspired by family members who battled leukemia. Just seven months later, she received the call that she was a match for a patient. Says Maren: "Once you hear that someone is counting on you, it was the easiest decision of my life.”

Our top fundraising HOSA chapter, the East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) in Mesa, Ariz., has raised an incredible $150,000+ since 2021 to help us save lives! This dynamic, award-recognized team continues to inspire leadership and service in health care education.

Earn prizes and recognition with HOSA + NMDP

HOSA chapters and students can earn recognition in multiple ways through fundraising, registry engagement and volunteer service.

Chapter prizes and recognition
- 100 points – Recognition for the chapter from HOSA
- 250 points – NMDP merch item for each chapter member
- 500 points – Recognition for the chapter from HOSA
- 750 points – Exclusive lapel pins for each chapter member
- 1,000 points – Eligibility to apply for funding equal to 10% of total points earned*
How chapters earn points
- $1 raised = 1 point
  Must have a registered chapter team at nmdp.org/hosachapters
- 1 person added to the NMDP Registry = 20 points
  Chapter's join keyword MUST be used to track in NMDP systems for auditability
- 1 pre-registration = 5 points
  Chapter's join keyword MUST be used to track in NMDP systems for auditability
- 1 hour volunteering with NMDP = 1 point
  Chapter advisors and members MUST set up a volunteer account and submit hours through the NMDP Volunteer Portal
Earn your NMDP honor cords
- Students may qualify for HOSA honor cords through service with NMDP.
- To earn honor cords:
  
  Create an account in the NMDP Volunteer Portal
  
  Enter your expected graduation date
  
  Record at least 20 cumulative volunteer hours
  
  Confirm your mailing address
- Honor cords are shipped approximately mid-April for May graduations and mid-May for June graduations.
