Meet Dominik

A PhD student in psychology at the University of Oregon, Dominik channels his passion for discovery into every aspect of his life, from groundbreaking research to exploring national parks. Originally from Germany, his journey took a profound turn in 2024 when he answered the call to donate peripheral blood stem cells (PBSC).

This selfless act led to a deeply moving connection with his recipient, highlighted by a cherished handwritten letter. Though his recipient has since passed, Dominik finds solace and pride in knowing he extended their life, granting precious extra time with the people they loved.

Behind the scenes of donation

In 2024, Dominik traveled to Seattle for his PBSC donation and made a swift recovery. His experience reflects the profound impact a donor can have. His story is a powerful reminder that joining the registry offers the chance not only to be the cure, but to give someone more moments that truly matter.
