Overview
The adult division at the John Theurer Cancer Center and the pediatric program at the Joseph M Sanzari Children's Hospital offers their patients comprehensive, compassionate, and cutting edge stem cell therapy. The team at Hackensack University Medical Center has extensive experience in autologous, allogeneic, matched, mismatched, haploidentical and cord blood transplant. Both programs offer immune effector cell therapy.This center has been performing allogeneic transplants since 1993 and has been an NMDP transplant center since May 1996.

Hackensack Meridian Health, home to the Joseph Sanzari Children's Hospital and the John Theurer Cancer Center (JTCC) offers stem cell transplant patients a wide range of resources and personalized patient care. Patient and caregiver support groups led by certified psychosocial professionals are available on both the inpatient and outpatient units. Family members of pediatric patients have access to apartments at the Audrey Hepburn Children's House and are provided one caregiver meal per day when their child is inpatient. Our educational liaison is available to assist the family with school related issues. In addition the Cure and Beyond Program offers transplant survivors further evaluation, treatment and counseling for medical and psychosocial issues as they adjust to life post-transplant.
At the JTCC, patients have access to outpatient apartments and discounted rates at local hotels. There are numerous activities such as Yoga, Cardio and Weight Resistance offered throughout the week. The cooking studio offers lessons and demonstrations featuring delicious nutritious recipes. To promote recovery and healing, a creative art workshop studio and tranquility room for reflection and mediation are available. Patients have access to a consumer health librarian that can access credible sources on the internet. For those patients that may require further treatment we are the largest photopheresis center in the area.Patient survival information for this center
