Overview
We perform autologous, related/unrelated allogeneic, and cord blood transplants in adult and pediatric patients. We offer a range of immune effector cellular therapies. We have 21 adult and 4 pediatric beds, adult and pediatric clinics, and a dedicated cellular therapeutics laboratory. We are FACT accredited. CIT Ancillary Clinic operates on a medical home model with other disciplines embedded in the clinic i.e. Pulmonology, Adolescent Young Adult, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Psychiatry, and Neuro Oncology. Weekly clinical care conferences allow each patient to be evaluated by the clinical transplant, hematologic malignancy, and clinical research teams. This allows for a comprehensive review of all potential treatment options, including non-transplant therapies.
Caregiver classes are available online and nursing provides teaching at the bedside with patients and their caregivers. The Doorways offers the conveniences of home (thedoorways.org). Recommended $15 dollar donation per guest per day, referral necessary from VCUHS staff. Guests must live 30 miles or more from VCUHS. All Guests must have an adult caregiver present. Located 5 blocks from VCUHS. Free Shuttle service provided to and from VCUHS (8am- 5pm). After 5pm there is an after hours transportation service available.
