NMDP℠ research grant programs to help all patients thrive
Outstanding researchers are doing groundbreaking work to help patients live longer, healthier lives after receiving a blood stem cell transplant or another cell therapy.
To advance treatment for more patients, NMDP invests in these researchers through two grant programs: the NMDP Amy Strelzer Manasevit Research Program and the NMDP Barbara Buchbinder Nurse Research Program.
Both research programs are fully funded through generous financial gifts.
NMDP Amy Strelzer Manasevit Research Program
The Amy Research Program supports innovative research projects led by early-career physician-scientists that address key challenges and advance the cell therapy field. Their research focuses on improving patient outcomes and reducing complications after treatment.
The investigators receive financial grants up to $400,000.
NMDP Barbara Buchbinder Nurse Research Program
The Buchbinder Nurse Research Program supports projects led by nurse researchers that aim to make a difference for children who receive a blood stem cell transplant. Their research focuses on improving the transplant experience and transplant outcomes for pediatric patients.
The nurse researchers receive $25,000 financial grants to pursue their research.
