Why our name changed

NMDP reflects who we are today. While our name has changed, we still operate the same donor registry. Our work has grown beyond donor matching to include advancing cell therapies, supporting research and expanding access to life-saving care. Today, we’re a global nonprofit working to save more lives.

As we’ve grown, one thing hasn’t changed: your decision to join the registry. Every day, patients depend on people like you being available when a match is found. If you’re ever identified as a matching donor, we’ll be here to guide you every step of the way.
